I did some cross stitching.

I did some cross stitching last night on the bus I'm working on. But by the looks of it I might have to frog some of it tonight. I hate the frog. It's a small project but I'm a very slow stitcher. That's all I have for now. Take care.

finishing ideas

I have no stitching to share today but I do have some finishings techniques that I'd thought I'd share. This is what I found when I was searching the Internet. I got it from www.CyberStitchers.com if you want more information. That's about all I have for today.

Braided Cording

While not a finishing technique in and of itself, braided cording and tassels can be used to dress up other project finishes like the Filled Pillow With Optional Braid & Tassel. While you can purchase cording from a craft store, you may not be able to find the exact color you need. These instructions allow you to create cording from cross-stitch floss.

Filled Pillow With Optional Braid & Tassel

This finishing technique is most often used to create ornaments but can also be used to complete any project that you want to hang. There are two parts to this approach, forming and stuffing the "pillow", and adding the braid and tassel. The braid and tassel are optional but add an elegant finish to the project.

Bookmark with Frayed Edge

The Frayed Edge finish is used to add a 1/2" frayed border around your finished project. The cross stitch fabric is stiffened by sandwiching multiple pieces of fusible web, available at most fabric stores, between another piece of fabric identical to that used to stitch the project. The two pieces of fabric are then sewn together to ensure that the frayed edges will not unravel beyond that point.

Jewelry Pin

This finishing technique can be used to turn small patterns stitched on Aida or similar fabric into jewelry pins. The technique works best for square or rectangular pins but it could be adapted for circular pins.

Mini Banner Ornament

This finishing technique allows you to create mini banner ornaments from stitched projects up to 5" in width.

Refrigerator Magnet

This finishing technique is used to add a magnetic backing to a cross-stitch project turning it into a refrigerator magnet. The fabric is reinforced using a thin piece of "shirt cardboard" or similar thin cardboard.

Ribbon Bookmark

This finishing technique can be used to create bookmarks using a piece of satin ribbon and your stitched project.

Greeting Card

This finishing technique allows you to create greeting cards from either fabric or perforated paper cross stitched projects. The instructions are provided for creating a card with a rectangular cut-out to display the cross stitch but the same technique can be used for a circular cut-out.

Tuck Pillow Ornament

This finishing technique is similar to the Filled Pillow With Optional Braid & Tassel but instead of sewing the finished piece into the ornament, a pocket is created which frames and holds your stitched piece in place.

Washing Counted Cross Stitch Projects

If you plan on framing your completed cross-stitch project, it's a good idea to hand-wash first to remove oils from your hands and any other dirt.

Stitched on a project. (Bus)

I did some stitching on the bus. I know I'm a slow stitcher. HA HA! I found an article on one of the message boards that I read on occasion. The article is found at this web address if anyone wants to read it. Address is http://www.violarium.com/index It's a different way of finishing up a project. Just thought I'd share this with everyone. That's all I have for today.

another project that I found

I found another project from the same site. This also looks beautiful. This project is called Unicorn. Above is a picture of it. The blog that I posted underneath is a Mother's Day Butterflys. Both of these designs are designed by Janice St. Germain. They are from Drawings by Jan Brett. Well that's all for today.

Found another project

I found another project. It's very beautiful. Above is a picture of it. I found it at a website. It's a free design. The website is http://www.janbrett.com/cross_stitch/cross_stitch_main_page.htm That's where I found it. Love the design. I'm going to print it off and add to my stash. Like I need more projects to do. That's all I have for today.

I didn't get any stitching done on any of the two projects that I'm working on. But I decided to start working on another project. It's a school bus. Like I need to start on something new. I'll have a picture of it when I get it finished. If you want to see any of my finished projects then go cheak out my webpage at http://s101.photobucket.com/albums/m46/angelstar3_2006/ That's where you can find all of my finished projects including the two pics that I posted the other day. That's all the news that I have for today.

my afghan (baby)

Here's a picture of the afghan that I've started. It's not much but everytime I started stitching on it. I have to rip some if it out or I'll be a little further along. I'll try to get some done either tonight or on the weekend. The afghan is a little harder then I thought. Can't wait to see it finished though. Thanks for looking.

When I figure out how to post pics I will show you what I've done so far. I'm also doing a baby blanket. It's my first one. It's winnie the pooh.
